New Mexico Book Awards
The purpose of the New Mexico Book Awards is to uncover and honor the best in New Mexico’s books! Entries in the New Mexico Book Awards will be judged by booksellers, librarians, teachers, and book marketing experts. The New Mexico Book Awards are underwritten by Albuquerque The Magazine, Borders, LPD Press & Rio Grande Books, Printer’s Press, Sunbelt Shows/Fiery Foods, the New Mexico Humanities Council and the New Mexico Book Co-op.

Eligibility
Open to authors and publishers anywhere; books must have a direct connection to New Mexico, either as subject, author, or publisher. Books with a publication date or copyright date of 2009 or 2010 are eligible. Books that won in a category in a previous New Mexico Book Award Program are not eligible for re-submission; finalists can be re-submitted. All entries must be received no later than July 1, 2010. Finalists will be announced by mid-October.

Requirements
Books can be entered in more than one category. Each entry must include the Entry Form, payment of the entry fee and three copies of the book being considered (add one copy for each additional category entered for the same book). $40 per entry/per category; there will be a $10 discount for entries submitted before May 1, 2010 ($30 per entry).

All entries must include the Entry Form, payment of entry fees and three copies of the book being considered (add one copy for each additional category entered for the same book). $40 per entry/per category; $30 per entry if submitted before May 1.

The summary comments and scores from the judges will be available to entrants this year for any authors who request them. The cost to have the scores/comments mailed to you is $3.00.
